Guess what? My wife decided to spend a very small amount of money on typewriters. She bought a his and hers model. Guess who get's which?

Those new-fangled contraptions look pretty snazzy! Are they manual or electric?

ReplyDeleteOoh I'd be most delighted to receive a letter on one of those sometime!! :) You are living out my dream! I too, want to pick up a vintage typewriter and use it for a heap of things, but not limited too: novels and correspondances!! Eek. How exciting for you!! My favourite models are in the 1930s and 1940s. I might have to dip into the 50s to get a workhorse one though! Laughs. Which model is this!?
Hi Jorie, The top machine is a Smith Corona, circa 1960s and the bottom machine is a Sears The Scholar, circa early 1980's. It is amazing how quickly one can fill a sheet of paper using them. It gives me a real sense of accomplishment to hear the ding, hit the return lever and fill a page.
